Sony has been in a stalemate regarding the PlayStation 5 price question. Sony is now announcing that the suggested retail price (RRP) for the PlayStation 5 has been changed across the majority of regions. It's not clear if this is a temporary or a permanent change.

Japan, Canada Canada will experience the PlayStation 5 cost more in Japan, Mexico China, Canada and Europe. Sony says that the cost increase is due to global inflation, changes in currency as well as supply and demand and increased prices.

The price increase was not unexpected, but console developers have a reputation for reducing the production cost within two years. The production cost could comprise all steps involved in making the product, such as manufacturing.

The price hike is not expected to have a significant effect on PlayStation 5 sales. Many gamers still hope to purchase a PlayStation 5 despite the higher cost.
